The hotel is situated in naval barrack buildings by Tessin (the Younger) dated from 1699 at the Skeppsholmen island in central Stockholm. In 2009 the architects Claesson Koivisto Rune made the interiors. In tandem with the interior architecture, Gabor Palotai Design created the hotel’s graphic identity. It is uniting the hotel’s modern interiors with the plain late baroque exteriors. The boxy barrack letters, with a quirk, make up the typographic pattern for Hotel Skeppsholmen’s brand communication.
